Patrick J. Kelly of Pearl River, NY, former resident of Bronx, NY passed away on March 21, 2023 at home with his loved ones. He was 89.
Mr Kelly worked as a laborer/superintendent for Gallin and Son Construction in NYC.
He was with the company for 25 years before retiring in 1999. He was life member of Construction-Laborers Local in NYC.
Patrick was born March 16, 1934 in New York City to Ann Kelly. He was educated in the Bronx and was a graduate of DeWitt Clinton HS.
Mr Kelly served in the US Army from 1951-1954 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He fought in the Korean War in the 187th Airborne Paratrooper. He received 2 Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense SVC Medal. VFW Post 375 American legion Post 329, Pearl River, NY.
On June 8, 1958 he married Florence M. Germain at St. Joseph Parish , Bronx, NY.
Patrick Kelly lived in Pearl River for the past 20 years. Before that, he lived in Yonkers, NY from 1980 to 2003 and Bronx, NY from 1945 to 1980.
Locally, he was a member of the Pearl River Elks, AOH Div 3, Pearl River, Proud member of American Legion Post 329, Pearl River and VFW Post 375 Yonkers, NY.
Patrick will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his loyalty to friends and his dedication to his country and his convictions.
He is survived by Patricia Kelly (daughter) Pearl River, Ret. NYPD; Mickey Germain (brother-in-law)NC formerly of Sloatsburg, NY; Michael Germain and family (nephew) Warwick, NY; Brian Germain (godson) NC.
Family members who died earlier include, Florence Kelly (Germain); James J. Kelly (son); Anne Kelly (mother); Denis Germain (nephew) FDNY; Eileen Rinaldi (sister-in-law); Peggy Germain (sister-in-law); Anna Grinka (mother-in-law); Benny Rinaldi (nephew) (nephew); Elisabeth Ruther (great niece).
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Aedan R. C. Church, Pearl River. Visiting is Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
Friends may send memorial donations in lieu of flowers to John H. Secor American Legion Post 329 Scholarship Fund or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
