Michael Kunzmann

Michael Kunzmann of Pearl River, NY, passed away on October 1, 2020 at the age of 34. Michael was cherished for his big heart and love of family and friends. He enjoyed hiking, music and his career as an Athletic Trainer.

Michael was the Athletic Trainer for John Jay/East Fishkill High School in Hopewell Junction, NY and, prior to that, at Horace Mann School in the Bronx, NY. He was born on July 27, 1986 in Suffern, NY to Raymond Kunzmann and Mary Anselmi Kunzmann. He graduated from Pearl River High School in 2004, received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Manhattan College, Bronx NY, in 2008 and his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ in 2012.

He is survived by his father Raymond and mother Mary, his 5 sisters – Nicole Orecchio (Joe), Jill Kunzmann, Mercedes Kunzmann, Maria Kunzmann and Serena Kunzmann, beloved nephews Tommy and Kevin Orecchio and niece Evelena Kunzmann, his grandmother Terry Anselmi and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Calling hours are 4 to 8 pm on October 7th at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River, NY. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00 am on October 8th at St. Aedan’s Church, 23 South Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY.

In lieu of flowers or donations, Michael would have liked his friends and family to go out and enjoy a hike.
