Mary Roberta "Bobby" Muldoon

Mary Roberta (“Bobby”) Muldoon died on January 28, 2021, surrounded by family at her home in Pearl River, New York, at age 92. Bobby was born in the Bronx to James and Nellie (Kane) Quigley on October 3, 1928. She attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School and was employed by F.I. DuPont and Company. On April 20, 1949, she married Austin (“Buddy”) Muldoon at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church. They were together for 60 years until his death in 2010.  For most of her married life, Bobby was a stay-at-home mom raising her sons first in the Bronx and, from 1967 on, in Pearl River. At home, she was just as likely to be found spackling, painting, and wallpapering as baking cookies. She loved running and golf and especially swimming, at Breezy Point in the 1960s and later at the Pearl River Nauraushaun Swim Club, where she was a fixture every summer. Under her tutelage, her children, grandchildren, and more than one neighborhood kid learned to swim. She was a communicant at St. Aedan's R.C. Church in Pearl River, and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Bruce and Nancy, of Pearl River, Austin (Tim) and Sanguansri (Taw) of Congers, Robert of Pearl River, and John and Carol, of Pearl River; by her grandchildren, Tara and her husband Scott, Rev. Ryan Muldoon, Luck, Matthew, Austin, Hannah, John, Jamie, Kyle, and Samantha, and by her great-grandchildren, Lana and Ashton. She was lovingly cared for in recent years by her devoted aide and friend, Ruth Campbell. She was predeceased by her husband Buddy, their son James, her brother James, and her sister Elizabeth. Viewing at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home and burial at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx will be for immediate family only. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aedan’s R.C. Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Memorial donations may be made to the United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, New York 10956.
