Obituary
Margaret Eunice (Pagett) Markham passed from this life on February 15, 2022, and rejoined her husband, Richard C. Markham, who predeceased her on January 17, 2013.
Married for 69 years, Margaret and Richard had four children, Mary (Steve Sagers); Thomas (Christine); Susan (Quinn Orr); and Margaret Mary, who passed on March 26, 2022, after a long illness, (Jeff Carter).
The Markhams were blessed with sixteen grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren who deeply loved their Grammie and Goomba.
Married in St. Joseph’s Church in Gowanda, NY on September 23, 1944, their journey together took the Markhams from Western New York where Dick worked for United States Fidelity and Guarantee Company for over thirty years, to San Antonio, Texas; Mesa, Arizona; and then to St. George, Utah, where for years they enjoyed the arts, golf, and cherished visits from family and friends. Music filled their homes and our hearts as Goomba played organ while Grammie sang “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.” We will miss them terribly.
A memorial service will be held for both Margaret and Richard at 2 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Markham Cemetery, Village of Markham, Town of Dayton, NY.
