Josephine Campbell Obituary

Josephine Campbell (nee McCutchen) 95, of Pearl River (a Bronx native) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Nyack Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1927 to James and Catherine McCutchen, she came to the United States at the age of 3. She met and married her loving husband, Arthur “Scotty” Campbell who predeceased her in 1998. Together they raised a loving family of four boys and two girls. She was a homemaker that loved gardening, but her greatest loves were her family and her faith. Together, she and her husband will now watch over the family from heaven. We are so thankful that we were blessed with a loving, caring and devoted mother. We will miss her bright smile. She will live in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her children Arthur Campbell and wife Edie of Brewster NY, James Campbell and late wife Helen of Monroe NY, Christine Celaya of Pearl River NY, Michael Campbell and late wife Lynn of Wappingers Falls NY, Joseph Campbell and wife Valerie of Chestnut Ridge NY, Mary Ortega and husband Michael of Park Ridge NJ, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a sister Jeanne DeVos of South Carolina and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Arthur “Scotty” Campbell, her sister Bridie and husband Adolf Jacob, her brother James, her brother Francie and wife May McCutchen and her brother Kenneth McCutchen.

Donations can be made to her favorite charity St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
