Joseph F Parente

Joseph F. Parente, (Pancho), passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Pearl River for the past 86 years. 

Joseph graduated from Pearl River High School in 1954.  He enlisted in the Navy at 17 and proudly served on the USS Midway and the USS Luzon (ARG-2).

On September 3, 1960, he married Barbara Ann Hopko at St. Margaret of Antioch Church, Pearl River. They celebrated 62 years of marriage together.

Joseph was employed at Lederle Laboratories as a machinist for 38 years. 

Joseph will be remembered for his love for his family.  He was always spoiling his grandchildren; and then even more, (thinking no one knew).

Joseph was an all around outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting/archery.

He was a member of the Pearl River Senior Club A for many years and enjoyed traveling with the club members.

Joseph is survived by his wife, (Barbara), his son Joseph, (Maryellen), his daughter, Mari-Anne, (Woody), and his daughter Jennifer.  His grandchildren, Corrina, Scarlet, Joseph, Cristina, Anjelina, Sofia.

He was proceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Calling hours are Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Wyman-Fischer Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at St. Margaret of Antioch Church, 115 W. Central Avenue, Pearl River
