Joan Ann Butler

Joan Ann BUTLER of Pearl River, NY, 80 years old, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021. Joan Ann was  born September 1, 1940 to Vincent and Norah Butler.  She graduated from Incarnation High School. Joan worked at Manhattan College for 33 years. She was a proud Irish Woman and enjoyed traveling to Ireland.  The biggest joy of Joan Ann’s life was the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her daughter Teresa A. Hartey-Adametz (Raymond), daughter Ellen M. Haren (Michael) and son Thomas J. Hartey (Jacquelyn). She is also survived by her brothers, George Butler (Maureen d. 2021), Vincent Butler (Patricia), and sister Ellen Keating (Robert d. 2020).  She is predeceased by her brothers Thompson, James, and John. She is also survived by her (7) grandchildren: Jennifer, Richard, Michael, Patrick, Steven, Thomas, and Kieran and (3) great-grandchildren: Brianna, Ryan, and Colin. In addition to many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her love of all things Irish, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 29, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY.  A Final prayer service will be held on Friday April 30, at 10:00AM at Wyman-Fisher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation that honors all First Responders, Veteran’s, and Gold Star Families. (www. t2t.org)
