Francis J. Liddy (Frank), 86, peacefully passed away on November 24, 2021.
A native of O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare, Ireland, Frank is survived by his loving wife and partner of 56 years, Maureen (née Reidy). Devoted father to Frank (Kathleen), David (Christine), Kevin (Mimi), and Jeffrey. A very proud Papa to Katie, Claire, Brendan, Megan, and Ryan. And a loving uncle to James, Margaret, Michael, Maureen, Kevin, Therese, Margaret, and his extended family across Ireland, England, and Canada.
Emigrating from Ireland in 1960, he bootstrapped his way to own and operate multiple establishments in Brooklyn, Inwood, and The Bronx. After a brief return to Ireland in the late 1970s, he moved his family back to New York permanently. Settling in Pearl River, NY, he and Maureen owned and operated the local 7-Eleven store for 15 years where they were an integral part of the community.
His humility, humor, and hospitality are legendary and he will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched over the years.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, November 26th between 3-6 PM at the Wyman-Fisher funeral home in Pearl River. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 10 AM at St. Margaret’s R.C. Church in Pearl River, with interment to immediately follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.
The family would like to express thanks to the Nyack Hospital oncology staff for their help and care. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s cancer research for children are welcome.
