Charlotte "Lottie" Fallon Obituary

Charlotte “Lottie” Fallon, a 63-year resident of Pearl River, NY who recently moved to Dowling Gardens in Sparkill, NY died peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 17. She was 102 years old.

Lottie and her late husband Dan moved to their home in Pearl River in 1958, where they raised their seven children and where she was an active parishioner at her beloved St. Margaret’s Church. Through the years, Lottie was active in countless committees and clubs, including the Columbiettes, the Rosary Altar Society, Pearl River Senior Citizen Club “A,” and enjoyed her Monday afternoon card games at the Pearl River Library.

A proud daughter of Dubliners Mary and Joseph Walsh, Lottie was raised in the Bronx. During World War II, she was selected to serve in the Troop Movement division for the Department of Defense, traveling everyday to the Brooklyn Navy Yard from the Bronx.

Her first job was at Macy’s Herald Square. Many years later, Lottie worked part time for Bamberger’s, and eventually, when it became Macy’s, she proudly ran the Fine Jewelry Department.

An avid reader, Lottie was known for her sense of style, quick wit and strong faith. She had a devotion to our Blessed Mother and prayed the Rosary daily. She was not shy when it came to sharing her thoughts ranging from makeup to politics and you were never left wondering what she was thinking.

Lottie took incredible pride in her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always fiercely independent and strong willed, Lottie decided it was time to move to Dowling in the fall of last year. There she had a new lease on life, made many new friends and participated in all the activities they had to offer.

Since her beloved husband Dan’s passing in 1984, Lottie has been the matriarch and heart-and-soul of the Fallon family. She was predeceased by her grandson, Patrick Fallon, her son-in-law Thomas Kelly, as well as her four siblings and numerous sisters-and brothers-in-law. Survivors include her devoted children: Daniel & Betty Fallon of Valley Cottage, NY, Patricia Kelly of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, Adrienne & Charles Muthig of Southampton, NY, Michael & Maureen Fallon of Blauvelt, NY, Christine & Gerard Brady of Blauvelt, NY, Timothy & Marguerite Fallon of Monmouth Beach, NJ. and Father Joseph P. Fallon of Garneville, NY.

She also leaves behind adoring grandchildren Daniel Fallon, Devon St. John, Christian, Corinne, Clare and James Kelly, Alanna Leszczynski, Moira Hussey, Sean Muthig, Michael Brady, Mariel Cramer, Sinead Fayle, Kiera Brady, Anne, Daniel and Grace Fallon, as well as many loving grandchildren-in-law.

Lottie was also loved by 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.

Lottie’s family will receive friends at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River on Thursday, May 19 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, May 20 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret's Church, Central Ave., Pearl River.
