Brian T Lenihan

Brian Thomas Lenihan age 43 of Wilmington, NC recently passed away unexpectedly.  Brian was born on May 1, 1979, in The Bronx to Patrick and Noreen (Chabriel) Lenihan.  Brian attended St Margaret of Antioch School in Pearl River and Don Bosco Prep High School in Ramsey, NJ.  Brian enjoyed playing sports growing up especially baseball and basketball.  His favorite sports teams were the NY Yankees and Jets.  As a child, Brian spent hours nearly every day playing with the other children from the neighborhood in the school yard across the street from his childhood home.  Brian’s annual childhood vacations were spent in Ocean Beach 3 down the Jersey Shore.  His family will cherish the memories of Brian from those weeks at the beach.

            Many people know Brian from the years he spent bartending at Murty’s Publick House in Pearl River.  Brian truly enjoyed his days working at Murty’s interacting with the thousands of people he encountered over the years.  Brian continued to work in the restaurant industry for many years, but his most important job was taking care of his father.  Brian became the primary caregiver for his father as his dad battled Alzheimer’s Disease at the end of his life.  It was not an easy job and Brian performed admirably during a difficult time.  Brian’s family is eternally grateful for the care he gave to his father.

            Brian loved being an uncle to his nephew Connor and niece Allison.  He spent a fun week with his family this summer in North Carolina that will not be forgotten.  Brian was an animal lover and had several pets throughout his life.  His nephew and niece now have a cat after begging for one after always playing with Brian’s cat.  Thank you Brian!  As an adult, Brian loved playing golf and had recently enjoyed playing at many golf courses in the Carolinas.  Since moving to North Carolina, Brian enjoyed being neighbors with his mother Noreen and enjoyed the time they spent together.  They had many laughs and good times that will be remembered.

            Brian is predeceased by his father Patrick Lenihan.  He is survived by his mother Noreen Lenihan, brother Patrick (Denise) Lenihan, nephew Connor, niece Allison and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.  Brian’s wish was to be cremated.  A memorial mass will follow on a later date.  Brian would want you to go out to dinner with family or friends, think of a happy memory of him and tip generously.

A memorial mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday May 20, 2023 at St. Aedan R.C. Church.
