Alan Cameron of Pearl River, New York died on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at home. He was 104.
Born in Butte, Montana on April 12, 1919, his family relocated several times, first to Wyoming and then further west to California, where his family trained horses and took part in horse shows. He was also introduced to tennis, which would become a lifelong passion. A veteran of the Second World War, he served in the First Infantry Division with the Tank Destroyers, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was later present when the Western Allies met the Russians at the Elbe River, before serving as an Investigations Officer after the war.
After returning from Europe, he married Jane Bocket on May 17, 1947, who predeceased him by 14 years. They lived in her hometown, Pearl River.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah David, and his two grandchildren, Stacie Cameron and Scott David.
