Margaret Shand

Margaret C. Shand of Rye, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019.  She was 91.

Margaret will be tremendously missed. She will be remembered for her love for her family, kindness, love for life, helpfulness to others and wit.

Margaret worked as a micrographics clerk for Lederle Labs in Pearl River, NY and at numerous law firms as a legal secretary before retiring. Margaret was born August 30,1927 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Peter Francis and Mabel Duchess Crowley (Teed). She was a long-time resident of Pearl River, NY and lived in Rye with her daughter for the past 20 years. Locally, she was a member of the Pearl River Hook and Ladder Co. 1 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Shand Bourkney, son-in-law Jerry Bourkney; daughters-in-law, Patty Shand and Laura Schnee and grandchildren Robert Shand, Stephanie Monteforte, Patrick Shand Jr., Sean, Casey and Shannon Bourkney and great grandchildren, Emma and Zoey Monteforte and Ameila and Oliver Shand. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert; sons, Robert and Patrick; sister, Mary Ellen Bawden and brothers, Peter and Paul Crowley.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Aedan R. C.  Church, Pearl River, NY.  Burial will follow at Highview Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.  Visiting is Tuesday June 18, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
