Helen M. Cooper

Helen M. Cooper of Pearl River, NY passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019.  She was 98. 

Helen was born August 25, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY to William and Maude Mehrhoff.  She moved to Pearl River in 1928.

Helen worked for Lederle Labs in Pearl River and was a seamstress and quilter for many years.

On April 16, 1944 she married Charles W. Cooper at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pearl River.

Locally, she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Heritage Quilters and So Be It Quilters.

Helen will be remembered for being a loving mother, and friend to all. 

She is survived by children, Wayne Cooper (Susan), Barbara Robertson (Rick) and Janet Cooper (Jock); eleven grandchildren, Jennifer, Buddy, Keith, Eddie, Pamela, Chris, Tom, John, Aaron, Ashley and Andrew; 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend and lifeline Wendy.  She is predeceased by her husband, Charles and sister, Grace Hopper. 

 A funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Pearl River.  Burial will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.  Visiting is Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
