Edward A. Babcock, 65, of Greenland, NH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. He was born in Suffern, NY on April 11, 1953, a son of Joan (Marino) Babcock and the late Kenneth C. Babcock.
Raised in Pearl River, NY, Ed graduated from Pearl River High School and went on to become a Master Electrician. He first worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 363, and later for Kohlhase Electric and RELCO Electric. After retiring, he enjoyed raising chickens, completing the daily crossword puzzle, and perfecting his repertoire of jokes for every imaginable situation. Ed was an avid hunter and excellent cook whose specialty was his famous square pizza.
Ed was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Frank E. Booma Post 6 and Elks Lodge #97, both of Portsmouth, NH.Ed will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will live on in our hearts, minds, thoughts, prayers, and laughs forever.
In addition to his mother, surviving family members include his wife of 25 years Cynthia Armstrong; children, Stephen Babcock, Elizabeth Wright, Rory Clark and Ross Armstrong; sisters, Teresa Warner and Nancy Babcock; brother Richard Babcock and grandchildren, Matthew, Trevor, Everett and Miller.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral. All are respectfully invited to join us and bring or share your favorite Ed joke or story to the celebration. If you are unable to attend, we ask you to post or send in your story for all to enjoy. Casual dress is suggested; camouflage wear encouraged!
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 AM Monday January 28, 2019 at St. Margaret R.C. Church. Inurnment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
