Douglas Malizia Obituary

Douglas Malizia of Washingtonville, NY formerly of Chestnut Ridge, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at his home.  He was 74.

Mr. Malizia was a tractor trailer driver for L. J.  Kennedy of Stony Point, NY for 33 years before retiring in 2009.  He was a member of the Local 445 of Newburgh, NY.

Douglas was born June 7, 1945 in Stamford, CT to Alphonse and Helen (MacDonald) Malizia.

He was a graduate of Rippowam HS in Stamford, CT. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967.

Douglas adored his wife, Margaret and loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret; children, Robert Askew and Laurie Fasch; grandchildren, Kristen Mangiapia, Robert Askew and Anthony Malizia; great grandchild, Liam McDonnell, siblings, Robbie and Susan and many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his son, Richard Malizia (2010); sister, Jean and brother, Jaime.

 Visiting is Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Monday at the funeral home.
