Catherine Healy

Catherine (Kay) Ellen Healy, nee Comer, a resident of Pearl River, NY passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Kay was born in the Bronx, NY on December 6, 1922. Her devoted husband of 61 years, Vernon Vincent Healy, predeceased her on April 20, 2007. She will always be highly respected and remembered by her family.

Kay is survived by her seven loving and proud children; her daughter Eileen and husband John Murphy of Clifton Park, NY, her daughter Patricia Mocerino of Orlando, Florida, her daughter Dianne and husband Larry Maloney of Orlando, Florida, her son Tommy Healy and wife Tara of Pearl River, NY, her daughter Grace and husband Tom Bach of Chester, NY, her son Michael Healy of Pearl River, NY and her daughter Cathy Bonet of Washingtonville, NY. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

She leaves us with a legacy of memories for miles. Her fondest moments were spent at home with her husband and family. Some of the most memorable were Christmas’s with all of the grandkids opening presents and many days out by their pool enjoying endless parties and BBQ’s. As a couple, Kay and Vern enjoyed traveling with friends, dancing, trips to Atlantic City and long drives in the fall to see the foliage.

Kay spent most of her life raising her 7 children and worked as a secretary at St. Agatha’s Home for Children in Nanuet, NY. Kay enjoyed many hobbies including, gardening, reading, cooking, painting, knitting and sewing.

She will always be fondly remembered by her family and friends. Her sense of humor and kind spirit will continue to carry on through her family. She is now dancing with her true love Vern, forever at peace. We will miss you.

Our family would like to thank the friends who helped care for our mother until the end; Elizabeth, Julie, Patricia, Fina, Heather, Margaret, Sheila and Patsy.

Calling hours are on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 4pm – 8pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. The service will be held at the funeral home, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 12:45PM. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 34 Rt. 59 A, Nanuet, NY..
