Andrew McDonagh of Pearl River NY passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019. He was 77 years old.
Andy worked for 27 years as a mechanic for the New York City Transit Authority. He also continued his mechanic work for 12 years for the Town of Clarkstown Mini Trans before retiring in 2008. Andy will be fondly remembered as a hard worker who was always willing to help his many friends.
He was born in Brookeborough, County Fermanagh to Pat and Helen McDonagh. He was one of 11 children. Andy came to the Bronx, New York in 1963 where he married his loving wife, Breeda, in 1968. They lived in Ridgefield and Dumont, NJ before moving to Pearl River, NY in 1980, where they spent 39 years surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Breeda; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lauren, son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Darlene, daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Rob Valerio, and son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Melissa. He adored his nine grandchildren, Maddie, Ryan, Ellie, Colin, Siobhan, Aidan, Chase, River, and Fionn. He is also survived by siblings Peggy, Kathleen, Vera, and John and many loving nieces and nephews in the US and Ireland.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, July 2 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Pearl River.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday July 3 at St. Margaret of Antioch R. C. Church, Pearl River.
Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill.
