Rosalie Austin Obituary

Sally was born in San German, Puerto Rico on October 17, 1939 to Angelo and Modesta Cintron. At a young age her family moved to New York City where she grew up surrounded by family. Eventually most of the family moved to The Bronx. Four generations lived in their Bronx home with fond memories of weddings, children, holidays, and endless family gatherings. That is also where she met her husband of 38 years, Eugene Austin, who passed in 2011. They retired to Ocala, FL where they found amazing friends and created unforgettable memories. Sally lived with her children and grandchildren for the past four years to be cared for with healing compassion and grace.

Sally is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Miguel and Raymond “Willie”.  She is survived by her daughter Samantha, son-in-law Mark, and son Anthony, daughter-in-law Diana, her five grandchildren Haven, Celeste, Anthony Jr., Oliver and Madeleine, her sister Ernestina “Tina”, as well as, her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.

Sally was a devout Catholic, she always carried her rosary beads and went to church every Sunday, even when traveling around the world.  Her unwavering faith in God and strong familial bonds is what she lived by. We find peace knowing she has returned home to God and find comfort in the Legacy of Love she leaves behind through all of us that cherished her.
