Matriarch of Arno Family Passes into Eternal Rest
Antonietta Arno,92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Originally from a small town in Sicily, Italy. Antonietta made the brave decision to leave her family behind in pursuit of a better life alongside her beloved husband, Anthony. They settled in Pearl River, New York in 1953. Together, they built a home filled with love and a tireless work ethic that enabled them to give a better life to their children.
Antonietta’s kitchen was her domain, where she would share delicious meals, wisdom and laughter. She was the heart and backbone of her family. Her unwavering commitment to her loved ones shined in every dish of pasta cooked, cookie baked , life experience told and in every laugh shared. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family. She left an indelible mark in the hearts of her family and all those who were lucky enough to have known her. Antonietta had a knack for bestowing culinary and life wisdom at the same time: Keep it simple, take your time, Use your common sense.
Antonietta showed us all what it means to live a full life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and unwavering commitment. Her spirit will live on in the recipes passed down, the laughter shared and the bonds that tie her family together. May her soul find eternal rest, and may her memory continue to inspire us.
Antonietta is predeceased by her husband Anthony Arno, and her sister Maria Geraci. She is survived by her siblings Domenica and Domenico Geraci; Children Frank M Arno(Geralyn), Vito Arno (Lindyl), Angelina Arno-Maimone; Beloved “Nonna” to Seven Grandchildren; Theresa (Nicholas), Robert (Kate), Rachel (Andre), Geoffrey , Kayla (Santiago), Christopher and Alexandra. Nine Great Grand Children; Cecelia, Norah, Molly, Nicholas, Camden, Daniel, Logan, Rafael and Sofia.
Arrangements are by Wyman Fisher Funeral Home , Pearl River. The wake will be Friday March 15, 4- 8 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday March 16, 10am at St Margaret’s of Antioch in Pearl River. Burial to follow at St Anthony’s Cemetery.
